Dona was one of the first people I ever met when my son Jordan started Kindergarten at Ilalko Elementary school.  She was also one of the people that was largely responsible for me getting involved in PTA. Her and Sandy Peace were always so welcoming and nice and really tried to include the new moms to get involved. She was always so positive, funny and diplomatic whenever any issues arose which you know always happens in PTA.  One of the funniest stories she ever told us was when they were living in Lakeland hills and there was a large rat that had somehow gotten into their house. It was in the dining room and her husband had it cornered on the top of the curtain rod on the  dining room window. Her husband had a bat(? I think?) and locked eyes with it and the rat jumped right at him. Her husband went nuts swinging the bat and I think he killed it. We were laughing so hard at the visual when she was describing it. She is always so funny!

I was sad when she moved but know that Montana is a place she loves. Praying for healing, comfort and peace for her and her sweet family. She is strong and if anyone can beat this beast, it would be Dona. I’m sure the school is missing her presence each and every day!
